Our classes are well structured; following a realistic but challenging syllabus that encourages all of our members to do their best and progress through the belt system.

We have classes for all ages and abilities.

CLASSES

JUNIOR KARATE CLASSES

Karate is a fun, exciting and healthy activity for children of all ages and abilities.  Our Junior Karate Classes are aimed at children of all abilities aged between 4 and 11 years and provide an all-round and fun experience of karate.

There are numerous opportunities to meet and make new friends as well as to participate in a wide variety of fun and competitive activities.  As well as teaching children to kick, punch, block and a variety of general fitness activities Karate teaches children to live a healthy and fit lifestyle that they will carry into their adult lives. 

Karate promotes overall confidence, self-respect, physical and mental wellbeing, concentration and independence.  The kicking and punching of pads as well as the fun orientated physical activities within a safe and supportive environment are great for reducing emotional stress.

New members are always welcome.

SENIOR KARATE CLASSES

Karate is a fun, exciting and healthy activity for young people and adults of all ages and abilities.  Our Senior Karate Classes are aimed at young people (11 - 15 years old) and adults of all abilities and provide an all-round, challenging  and fun experience of karate.

As well as teaching you to kick, punch, block and a variety of general fitness activities Karate teaches promotes a healthy and fit lifestyle. 

New members are always welcome.

DISABILITY KARATE CLASSES

We run weekly Disability Karate classes for Adults and Children.  Our Adult classes are suitable for adults with physical and / or learning disabilities and their carers.  Our Children's classes are suitable for children with physical and / or learning disabilities and their siblings / friends.

New members are always welcome.

KUMITE CLASS

Our Kumite (sparring) class is normally held every two to three weeks.

The Kumite class is open to all club members who are keen to improve their Kumite skills and tactics.  Plenty of Kumite drills, combinations and, of course, sparring.

Members are always welcome to join in this class.

KATA CLASSES

Kata is a Japanese word describing detailed patterns of movements.  The practice of Kata, along with Kihon (basics) and Kumite (sparring),  is an essential part of our karate training at the Kugatsu Karate-Do.  

We have Kata classes for all ages and abilities; our classes are open to all members.

Our Competition Kata class is aimed at members who are interested in participating in Kata competitions.

ADULT & CHILD CLASS

Karate is a fun, exciting and healthy activity for children, young people and adults of all ages and abilities.  

Our very popular Adult & Child Classes are a merging together of our Junior and Senior Classes; providing a  great opportunity for families and friends of all ages and abilities to train and have fun together whilst they are learning and practicing Karate.

CLASS FEES

New Members

New members  pay their fees on a class by class basis for the first full calendar month; thereafter they move onto to paying their fees on a monthly basis.  All classes fees must be paid by standing order, bank transfer or through PayPal in advance of the class.  


The class fees for new members are:


Child (up to 15 years old) £4.50 (bank transfer) or £5.00 (PayPal)

Adult £5.00 (bank transfer) or £5.50 (PayPal)


Monthy payment of class fees


All members of the club pay their class fees on a monthly basis (in advance) by Standing Order, Cash or Bank Transfer.  Please note that there will be no refunds in full or part for classes not attended during the month.  


There are 3 monthly payment options aimed at suiting the needs of all our members.  The monthly fee structure has been developed on the assumption that members will train 48 weeks each year, i.e. we have taken into consideration holidays, etc. when setting the fees.


Option 1 - Training once per week

The monthly fees for students training once per week are:


Child (4 - 15 years) - £17 (standing order) or £18 (PayPal)


Adult (16 years +) - £19 (standing order) or £20 (PayPal)

Option 2 - Training twice per week

The monthly fees for students training twice per week are:


Child (4 - 15 years) - £32 (standing order) or £36 (PayPal)


Adult (16 years +) - £36 (standing order) or £40 (PayPal)

Option 3 - Unlimited Training

With Option 3, members can train as often as they wish each week.  The  monthly fees for unlimited training are:


Child (4 - 15 years) - £40 (standing order) or £50 (PayPal)


Adult (16 years +) - £40 (standing order) or £50 (PayPal)


There are discounts available for family groups ranging from 10% - 25% based on the indivual Option 3 monthly fees outlined above.


Option 3 also provides an enhanced benefits scheme for members who pay by standing order, e.g. discounts on karate suits and equipment, grading fees, private tuition fees and Karate Fun seminars and events.

Details of the ONLINE ONLY class fees and monthly discounts for individuals, families and households are outlined below.  We have attempted to provide a variety of payments options to suit everyone’s training needs.  


Individuals per class (pay as you train)

Individuals (pay monthly)

1 class per week - £12.00 per month (bank transfer) or £13.00 per month (PayPal)

2 classes per week - £22.00 per month (bank transfer) or £23.00 per month (PayPal)

Unlimited training  - £30.00 per month (bank transfer) or £31.50 per month (PayPal)


Households / Families (pay monthly)

Unlimited training  - £40.00 per month (bank transfer) or £42.00 per month (PayPal)
